CONFLICT OF INTEREST

Conflict of interest adalah sebuah konflik berkepentingan yang terjadi ketika sebuah individu atau organisasi yang terlibat dalam berbagai kepentingan, salah satu yang mungkin bisa merusak motivasi untuk bertindak dalam lainnya.

Sebuah konflik kepentingan hanya bisa ada jika seseorang atau kesaksian dipercayakan dengan ketidakberpihakan beberapa; jumlah sedikit kepercayaan diperlukan untuk menciptakannya. Adanya konflik kepentingan adalah independen dari pelaksanaan ketidakpantasan. Oleh karena itu, konflik kepentingan dapat ditemukan dan dijinakkan secara sukarela sebelum korupsi pun terjadi. Contoh beberapa pekerjaan dimana konflik kepentingan adalah kemungkinan besar yang harus dihadapi atau ditemukan meliputi: polisi , pengacara , hakim , adjuster asuransi , politikus , insinyur , eksekutif, direktur sebuah perusahaan , penelitian medis ilmuwan, dokter , penulis, dan editor.

Maka dari pada itu kita bisa mendefinisikan konflik kepentingan sebagai situasi di mana seseorang memiliki atau pribadi yang cukup kepentingan pribadi untuk muncul untuk mempengaruhi tujuan pelaksanaan tugas-nya resmi atau sebagai, katakanlah, seorang pejabat publik, karyawan, atau profesional.

Sebuah konflik kepentingan bisa eksis dalam beberapa jenis situasi:

  • Dengan pejabat publik yang kepentingan pribadi bertentangan dengan jabatannya profesionalnya.
  • Dengan karyawan yang bekerja untuk satu perusahaan tetapi yang mungkin memiliki kepentingan pribadi yang bersaing dengan kerjanya.
  • Dengan orang yang memiliki posisi otoritas dalam satu organisasi yang bertentangan dengan kepentingan-nya dalam organisasi lain.
  • Dengan orang yang memiliki tanggung jawab yang saling bertentangan.

Tidak hanya itu ada hal-hal penting yang kita dapat perhatikan untuk mengetahui konflik berkepentingan ini, antara lain :

1. Konflik berkepentingan nyata dan dapat di bayangkan.

Pada umumnya konflik berasal dari peraturan yang kita gunakan dengan komunitas kita dan untuk alasan tersebut, konflik menjadi bagian nyata dibanding peraturan yang kita buat. Oleh sebab itu sering terlihat nya sebuah konflik sulit untuk dihindari. Dan ada alasan yang masuk akal yang membuat konflik berkepentingan dapat diterima dan tidak harus . Tapi paling tidak khalayak harus diberitahu kondisinya.

Satu masalah yang biasa ada dari sikap media dimana media profesional melihat pontesi dari konflik berkepentingan dapat menarik banyak perhatian yang di jadikan awal dari sebuah pemberitaan.

Media massa adalah sebuah bisnis besar dan tergantung dari banyaknya iklan yang mendukung mereka. Bagian editorial lebih menekankan sisi komersil untuk sehari-harinya. kebanyakan koran dan media penyiaran mengasingkan integritas jurnalistik dari tekanan komersil.

Beberapa organisasi berita juga dimiliki oleh perusahaan yang kesetiaannya lebih ke dasar dibandingkan kebebasan jurnalistik. ABC contohnya, ABC dimiliki oleh Walt Disney Company.

Di dunia media kemungkinan pengunaaan konflik berkepentingan sangat tidak terhingga dan ini menjadi kewajiban pengurus media untuk lebih sensitif kepada masalah etika akibat dari konflik yang ada.


2. Menyadari konflik : pada keadaan tersulit.

Jika kita menghindari konflik atau paling tidak belajar untuk mengikuti mereka,

kita harus mengerti dan belajar untuk apa konflik itu ada. Beberapa orang menjadi tidak sadar akibat dari perbuatan mereka.

Walaupun demikian konflik berkepentingan bisa berasal dari segala macam situasi. Profesionalisme media pada konflik berkepentingan ini terdapat 3 area yang spesifik :

a. Hubungan yang saling bertentangan

Memang sulit untuk memberikan2 hal besar. Sikap dari kepribadian kita tentu saja terbatas, ketika kita ikut serta didalam sebuah konflik yang saling bertentangan. Beberapa contoh hubungan yang saling bertentangan adalah checkbook journalism, personal relationship, dan the journalist as citizen.

b. Partisipasi publik yang bertentangan

Dua sisi dalam jurnalism. Kadang didalam dunia jurnalis ada dua sisi yang saling bertentangan dimana pastisipasi publik kadang tidak sesuai dengan keinginan dari media. Hal ini tentu saja membuat media dihadapkan pada suatu kondisi yang bertentangan dimana di satu sisi mereka harus mendapatkan partisipasi publik tapi di satu sisi juga mereka harus mendapat kan berita yang bisa menimbulkan partisipasi publik yang sesuai keinginan mereka.

c. Kepentingan pribadi dan maksud tersembunyi

Konflik yang ada antara profesionalisme media dan kepentingan pribadi dengan maksud tersembunyi terkadang menimbulkan banyak pertanyaan. Tidak beruntung nya kepentingan pribadi dan maksud tersembunyi didalam sebuah media profesional tidak akan terjadi pada sebuah organisasi berita yang editornya dapat memilih dan menggunakan kedua hal ini secara tepat dan sesuai.


3. Pendekatan untuk menangani konflik yang berkepentingan.

Biasanya, tidak menghilangkan masalah dan menjelaskan masalah yang ada bisa menjadi salah satu penanganan konflik ini.

Terdapat 3 hal yang di ikuti dan bisa berubah menjadi petunjuk moral dan dijadikan standart dari sebuah proses moral.

Pertama, tentu saja tujuan dari penyelesaian konflik harus dihindari dari konflik pribadi seperti ke profesionalan media dalam membuat berita.

Kedua, jika konflik tidak bisa di antisipasi, untuk mengatasi sebuah dilema, walaupun faktanya telah ada. Misal kantor penerbit koran tidak bisa menangani masalah yang timbul didalam perusahaan nya yang bisa dijadikan sebuah pemberitaan tetapi jika koran tersebut menutup nutupi cerita sebenarnya, mereka harus menganggap diri mereka terhindar dari konflik berkepentingan.

Ketiga, jika konflik kepentingan tidak bisa dihindari, ini harus di beritahu kepada publik atau klien.


4. Konflik kepentingan : studi kasus

Terdapat beberapa kasus mengenai konflik kepentingan. Misalnya PR practitioner yang menjadi aktivis politik, tes DNA : media memanggil hakim dalam kasus kematian warga kulit hitam di amerika. Kemudian kasus gen atau warna kulit di amerika.

Introduction

Racism is an issue that has been happening since a long time ago. Racism can also be defined as the belief that some races of men are better than others.
According to Oxford English dictionary, Racism is a belief or ideology that all member of each racial group process characteristic or abilities specific to that race, especially to distinguish it as being either superior or inferior to another racial group ( or groups ). Racism has been a major issue in most part of the world.
There are two types of racism:
• Overt Racism
Openly elaborate a racist argument or advancing a racist policy view. In overt racism, people openly cat that they are against particular group of people. Usually they show it through violence act.
• Inferential Racism
Neutralize representation of events and situation relating to race, whether “factual” or “fictional” which have inscribed in them as a set of unquestioned assumptions.
The way people perceived racially is largely artifact of economics, cultural, geographical history and greatly influences social perception today. Here are some examples of racism which believes happen since human civilization.
• In roman emperor, government expand their territory through war. The nation that win the war will own the territory and take the people as slave. The nation that win think that the other nation is weak ( inferior ) for losing the war and the nation that win has power to do whatever they want to the nation that lose. In this period of time, racial more shown in power. They haven’t known the other racial concept that based on skin color, religion, ethnicity, etc.
• African slavery on 14th century is an era which affect today’s racial concept. African slave brought to Europe and America by the tradesman. The tradesman doctrine the white people by saying that African people is perfect to be slave and taking order because they are the strongest race but inferior.
• The slaughter of Armenia Race happened in 1915 to 1918 during the first world war. The slaughter was plan and done by the turkey government to the Armenia population on the country. Armenia was being slaughtered, tortured. Most of Armenia population sent to Syria or to the desert and they leave Armenia people there to death because of hunger. The decision to slaughter Armenia population was the idea of Ittihad ve Terakki Jemiyeti partee or known as the Turkey’s youth partee which gave the military order to do this. Not just that, turkey government also formed a special troop called Teshkilati Mahsusa which duty is to do the slaughter. Beside the action that they did, they used media to spread ideology propaganda about new form of Turkey country where the country is only contains with Turkish people. The ideology propaganda was set as a reason to do the slaughter toward Armenia race.
Question
We come out with racism as our topic because:
1. We would like to know the existence of racism in Indonesia, Malaysia and America and it is surprise us that racism, in this modern era, actually happen in every part in this world, in our everyday life and we live with it.
2. We would like to know the impact of racism to our life.

Chapter II
Racism in Indonesia

Indonesia is a country in South East Asia that have, more less, 220 million people. Indonesia divide into 32 provinces which have its own culture, language, race, etc. 85% people in Indonesia are Moslem and the 25% is Catholic, Budha, Hindu, Konghuchu and Protestant.
Racism also happens in Indonesia. Racism happen to Chinese ethnic which population is, more less 4-5% in Indonesia. Racism in Indonesia is based on ethnicity and religion. Unlike United States or South Africa where racism is based on skin color. One of the ethnic in Indonesia, Chinese ethnic has been the “victim” of racial act in Indonesia. This act has begun since the Dutch Colonial Government era on 17th – 18th century.
In 1740, the worst racial violence of the 18th century happened where 10.000 ethnic Chinese in Batavia ( now Jakarta ) was brutally killed by the Dutch Colonial Government because of political and economic conflict of interest between ethnic Chinese and the Dutch colonial government. The racial was reflected in the policies called Passenskelsel made by the Dutch colonial government through the United East India Company ( VOC ) stated that every ethnic Chinese was required to hold a special pass when travelling outside their residential district. The policies enable the colonial Dutch government to watch and control the social activities of ethnic Chinese and make sure that no economic, political and social interaction occurred between ethnic Chinese and the rest of the population.
The racial against Chinese ethnic continues even after the Dutch Colonial Government was no longer exist in Batavia. The number of discrimination laws against Chinese ethnic were represent by the government of Indonesia
In 1959, President Soekarno approved PP10/1959 that forced Indonesian Chinese to close all their businesses in rural area and relocated into urban area. In 1960, following the failed claim communist coup attempt in 1965, Indonesian Chinese was accuse for being a communist. Political in the 70’s and 80’s limit the role of Indonesian Chinese in politics, academics and military. As a result, most of Indonesian Chinese became entrepreneurs and professional manager in trade and manufacturing. In 1998, a riot happened in Jakarta because the food prices are increasing when the number of unemployment people in Indonesia increased. Many of Indonesian Chinese became the victim and the riot were no longer a sign of protest from the people for government but it leaded into criminal act such as rape and mass robbery especially in area where most of the resident are Indonesian Chinese. During that time, many shops put “Milik Pribumi” ( owned by nateive Indonesian ) or “Pro reformasi” ( pro reformation ) otherwise, shop owned by Indonesian Chinese will be burned.
After the fall of Soeharto’s regime, almost all regulations which contain discrimination to Chinese ethnic erased. The Chinese ethnic is now able to practice their belief, Chinese New Year is freely celebrated and being a public holiday so, the Chinese ethnic able to celebrate it and Konghuchu, a religion that most of Chinese ethnic hold, is now recognize as religion that recognize by Indonesia government. Even nowadays, we can find newspaper written in Chinese language, there are several news on television that use Chinese language. This is a progress that impossible to happen a few years back.
On the other side, Chinese ethnic also do racial thing by having a beauty pageant event held only for Chinese ethnic. This is consider racial because the government acknowledge Chinese ethnic as Indonesian, not just as an ethnic or race that happen to live in Indonesia.
A Racism in Indonesian football:

Analysis
Does not only happen in football in Europe in our country Indonesia a football player become a a racism victim by a supporter.that action must be stoped because that action is hurting the victim. PSSI must think so that such action is not repeated. PSSI must make a law and giving a heavy punishment to person whom coduct racial act.we must imitate European law.
Racism in Malaysia
Malaysia is a multi-ethnic country where 52% Malay ethnic is the majority of the population, followed by 30 % of Chinese-Malaysia and 8% of Indian-Malaysian based on the percentage, it is possible to make racism happen in Malaysia. Malaysia is also a country where still practice discrimination politic in fields which allowed by the law. Racism in Malaysia happens in job field, government, etc. Malaysia is the only country which still practice racial politic which abide by the law. It is easily notice because most of the malay ethnic has more privilege compare to other ethnic in Malaysia, chinese ethnic and Indian ethnic. In Malaysia, chinese ethnic and Indian ethnic are consider as second class citizen compare to Malay ethnic. It can easily tell on the percentage of the people who run government.
In 1965, Singapore was out from Malaysia Federation because Malaysia is being racist by prioritize Malay ethnic and not considering other ethnics that live in Malaysia. In 1972, Malaysia government made rule which really pro-Malay in every aspects of everyday life. The purpose of the rule is to balance between Malay ethnic and Chinese ethnic but what really happen is way far from balance because since then, Malay ethnic is given “special right and treatment”. For example being given a higher position in a national company, government institution like a Malaysia-owned gas and oil company, Petronas. 90% of personas directors are Malay ethnic and only 3% of Petronas employee are Malay Chinese. Not just that, 5% of all new government intakes ( nurses, polices, army ) are non- Malay. In 2004, only 7% of government servants in the whole government are Malay Chinese. Dropped 30% from 1960.

A developing country like Malaysia should not make a decision like that a worker become a victim they have been live in Malaysia for a long time they have family .that action will harm the both site..malaysia will not easy will get a substitute for the Indian worker and the india will lose everything they get in Malaysia, their children will lose their education.a big decision.
Racism in United States of America
Racism in United States is based on skin color and the racism between white and black people has been a major issue since the colonial era. After the emancipation, African American ( and European American ) were allowed to become citizens of native American nations. Although technically, after African American being American citizen, they are able to vote, poll of taxes but the acts of terror ( often by group such as Ku Klux Klan ) founded in Southern state. It is a fact that people from south America is more racist to african-american. During late 60’s and early 70’s african-american have “special” seated area in a restaurant. The table which is allowed to be seated by african american is mark with blue table cloth while for white people, the table mark with red table cloth. Even it is no longer existed in South part of America but the truth is, the racism is still exist there. Racism in United States was worse happen before or after since 1877 – 1909. During this period of time, racial discrimination and expression of white supremacy all increased including race riots and capital punishment.

Until nowadays, racism between white American and black American are still happening in United States of America in media, politic and everyday life.
In Marxist class theory, Marx argues that society has two classes. The exploited or working class and one class will overpower the other class using any necessary meaning.
Media has divided the working class and stereotyped the African-American males as gangsters or drug dealer. The effect of this publicity turned negative because media have crushed youth’s prospect for future employment.
During the time in U.S. political history MWPA believed that the only political leader who could become the highest in the country. MWPA stands for Male (male), White (White), Protestant (Protestant Religion) and Anglo-Saxon (derived from ancestors from Europe, especially England). That is why, from the 42nd President of the United States until now there has never been a black or yellow. There is no woman to be president or vice president. There has been no person of African or Asian Americans who sat in the White House. Indeed once there was John F Kennedy became President of the Catholic religion, but then he was shot in Dallas. PENDAHULUAN

Latar Belakang
Tidak dapat dipungkiri lagi bahwa globalisasi merupakan salah satu unsur kuat dan mendasar terhadap terjadinya perubahan dan pergeseran nilai-nilai budaya dan tentunya dalam hal ini kesenian tradisional sebagai salah satu subsistemnya. Globalisasi adalah suatu fenomena khusus dalam peradaban manusia yang bergerak terus dalam masyarakat global dan merupakan bagian dari proses manusia global itu. Kehadiran teknologi informasi dan teknologi komunikasi mempercepat akselerasi proses globalisasi ini.
Fenomena mewabahnya seni kuda lumping di berbagai tempat, dengan berbagai ragam dan coraknya, dapat menjadi indikator bahwa seni budaya yang terkesan penuh magis ini patut diperhatikan sebagai kesenian asli Indonesia. Satu hal yang harus kita waspadai bahwa Indonesia masih terus dijajah hingga sekarang dengan masuknya kebudayaan asing yang mencoba menyingkirkan kebudayaan-kebudayaan lokal. Oleh karena itu, kita sebagai generasi penerus bangsa bangkitlah bersama untuk mengembalikan kembali kebudayaan yang sejak dahulu ada dan jangan sampai punah ditelan zaman modern ini. Untuk itu, kepada Pemerintah dan masyarakat diharapkan agar secara terus-menerus menelurusi kembali kebudayaan apa yang hingga saat ini hampir tidak terdengar lagi, untuk kemudian dikembangkan dan dilestarikan kembali nilai-nilai kebudayaan Indonesia.

Pembahasan

Pelestarian Kuda Lumping Melalui Media
Secara garis besar, begitu banyak kesenian serta kebudayaan yang ada di Indonesia diwariskan secara turun-menurun dari nenek moyang bangsa Indonesia hingga ke generasi saat ini. Sekarang, kita sebagai penerus bangsa merupakan pewaris dari seni budaya tradisional yang sudah semestinya menjaga dan memeliharanya dengan baik. Tugas kita adalah mempertahankan dan mengembangkannya, agar dari hari ke hari tidak pupus dan hilang dari khasanah berkesenian masyarakat kita.
Hal yang Menarik dari Permasalahan
Malaysia ingin mengakui kebudayaan milik indonesia karena indonesia tidak menghargai atau tidak dapat mengkomunikasikan dan mempublikasikan kebudayaannya sendiri. Malaysia telah mengakui beberapa pulau bahkan batik sebagai hak miliknya sebagai kebudayaan mereka maka kuda lumping yang memiliki ciri yang kuat harus dijaga keberadaannya. Kuda lumping adalah tarian tradisional yang dimainkan secara ”tidak berpola” oleh rakyat kebanyakan tersebut telah lahir dan digemari masyarakat, khususnya di Jawa, sejak adanya kerajaan-kerajaan kuno tempo doeloe. Awalnya, menurut sejarah, seni kuda lumping lahir sebagai simbolisasi bahwa rakyat juga memiliki kemampuan (kedigdayaan) dalam menghadapi musuh ataupun melawan kekuatan elite kerajaan yang memiliki bala tentara. Di samping itu juga sebagai media menghadirkan hiburan yang murah-meriah namun fenomenal kepada rakyat banyak. Kini, kesenian kuda lumping masih menjadi sebuah pertunjukan yang cukup membuat hati para penontonnya terpikat. Walaupun peninggalan budaya ini keberadaannya mulai bersaing ketat oleh masuknya budaya dan kesenian asing ke tanah air, tarian tersebut masih memperlihatkan daya tarik yang tinggi
Kenapa menarik?
Hingga saat ini, kita tidak tahu siapa atau kelompok masyarakat mana yang mencetuskan (menciptakan) kuda lumping pertama kali. Faktanya, kesenian kuda lumping dijumpai di banyak daerah dan masing-masing mengakui kesenian ini sebagai salah satu budaya tradisional mereka. Termasuk, disinyalir beberapa waktu lalu, diakui juga oleh pihak masyarakat Johor di Malaysia sebagai miliknya di samping Reog Ponorogo. Fenomena mewabahnya seni kuda lumping di berbagai tempat, dengan berbagai ragam dan coraknya, dapat menjadi indikator bahwa seni budaya yang terkesan penuh magis ini kembali ”naik daun” sebagai sebuah seni budaya yang patut diperhatikan sebagai kesenian asli Indonesia.
Unsur-unsur yang membuatnya menarik
Dipecut, Makan Beling dan Semburan Api
Entah hal apa yang bisa membuat para pemainnya ini seperti orang kesurupan. Dilihat dari cara permainannya, para penari kuda lumping seperti mempunyai kekuatan maha besar, bahkan terkesan memiliki kekuatan supranatural. Kesenian tari yang menggunakan kuda bohong-bohongan terbuat dari anyaman bambu serta diiringi oleh musik gamelan seperti; gong, kenong, kendang dan slompret ini, ternyata mampu membuat para penonton terkesima oleh setiap atraksi-atraksi penunggan (penari) kuda lumping. Hebatnya, penari kuda lumping tradisional yang asli umumnya diperankan oleh anak putri yang berpakaian lelaki bak prajurit kerajaan. Saat ini, pemain kuda lumping lebih banyak dilakoni oleh anak lelaki.
Bunyi sebuah pecutan (cambuk) besar yang sengaja dikenakan para pemain kesenian ini, menjadi awal permainan dan masuknya kekuatan mistis yang bisa menghilangkan kesadaran si-pemain. Dengan menaiki kuda dari anyaman bambu tersebut, penunggan kuda yang pergelangan kakinya diberi kerincingan ini pun mulai berjingkrak-jingkrak, melompat-lompat hingga berguling-guling di tanah. Selain melompat-lompat, penari kuda lumping pun melakukan atraksi lainnya, seperti memakan beling dan mengupas sabut kelapa dengan giginya. Beling (kaca) yang dimakan adalah bohlam lampu yang biasa sebagai penerang rumah kita. Lahapnya ia memakan beling seperti layaknya orang kelaparan, tidak meringis kesakitan dan tidak ada darah pada saat ia menyantap beling-beling tersebut.
Jika dilihat dari keseluruhan permainan kuda lumping, bunyi pecutan yang tiada henti mendominasi rangkaian atraksi yang ditampilkan. Agaknya, setiap pecutan yang dilakukan oleh sipenunggang terhadap dirinya sendiri, yang mengenai kaki atau bagian tubuhnya yang lain, akan memberikan efek magis. Artinya, ketika lecutan anyaman rotan panjang diayunkan dan mengenai kaki dan tubuhnya, si penari kuda lumping akan merasa semakin kuat, semakin perkasa, semakin digdaya. Umumnya, dalam kondisi itu, ia kan semakin liar dan kuasa melakukan hal-hal muskil dan tidak masuk diakal sehat manusia normal.
Semarak dan kemeriahan permainan kuda lumping menjadi lebih lengkap dengan ditampilkannya atraksi semburan api. Semburan api yang keluar dari mulut para pemain lainnya, diawali dengan menampung bensin di dalam mulut mereka lalu disemburkan pada sebuah api yang menyala pada setangkai besi kecil yang ujungnya dibuat sedemikian rupa agar api tidak mati sebelum dan sesudah bensin itu disemburkan dari mulutnya. Pada permainan kuda lumping, makna lain yang terkandung adalah warna. Adapun warna yang sangat dominan pada permaian ini yaitu; merah, putih dan hitam. Warna merah melambangkan sebuah keberanian serta semangat. Warna putih melambangkan kesucian yang ada didalam hati juga pikiran yang dapat mereflesikan semua panca indera sehingga dapat dijadikan sebagai panutan warna hitam.
Sebagai sebuah atraksi penuh mistis dan berbahaya, tarian kuda lumping dilakukan di bawah pengawasan seorang ”pimpinan supranatural”. Biasanya, pimpinan ini adalah seorang yang memiliki ilmu ghaib yang tinggi yang dapat mengembalikan sang penari kembali ke kesadaran seperti sedia kala. Dia juga bertanggung-jawab terhadap jalannya atraksi, serta menyembuhkan sakit yang dialami oleh pemain kuda lumping jika terjadi sesuatu hal yang tidak diinginkan dan menimbulkan sakit atau luka pada si penari. Oleh karena itu, walaupun dianggap sebagai permainan rakyat, kuda lumping tidak dapat dimainkan oleh sembarang orang, tetapi harus di bawah petunjuk dan pengawasan sang pimpinannya.

ANALISIS AWAL
Indonesia harus menggunakan media intertainment untuk memperkenalkan kesenian atau kebudayaannya selain itu juga sebagai alat untuk menjaga kelestariannya dari ancaman bangsa lain seperti malaysia yang banyak mengakui kebudayaan indonesia sebagai miliknya. Media merupakan wadah yang paling efektif untuk memperkenalkan atau mempertontonkan ide atau suatu kesenian seperti yang dibahas yaitu kesenian tradisional seperti kuda lumping, jadi kuda lumping tidak hanya dilihat diperkampungan atau dipinggiran jalan tetapi juga dapat disaksikan sebagai kesenian yang bernilai tinggi dan dapat ditonton masyarakat luas. Beberapa acara kesenian Tradisional pernah menjadi acara favorit dibeberapa stasiun televisi swasta (Favorit tentunya berdasarkan rating, menurut data Survey Research Indonesia, salah satu lembaga pemeringkat acara televisi, akhir Juni 2000, rating (peringkat) Ketoprak Canda 5. Artinya, acara itu ditonton oleh 5% dari sejumlah pemirsa di beberapa kota yang disurvai. Sementara Ketoprak Humor mengumpulkan rating 9 yang sebelumnya bertengger pada rating 13). Bahkan Ketoprak Humor yang pernah ditayangkan RCTI tiap Sabtu malam adalah acara favorit. Panasonic Awards 2000. Kesenian tradisional itu memang harus berkompromi dan beradaptasi agar bisa bertahan. Seperti: Ketoprak Humor, Ketoprak Canda, Ketoprak Jampi Stres, atau Ketoprak Plesetan relatif berhasil melakukannya melalui televisi. Namun, selain mendatangkan kemakmuran bagi pemain dan para anggota, modifikasi yang terlalu jauh bisa disalahartikan. Karena ketoprak yang sebenarnya. Adalah sejenis seni pentas yang berasal dari Jawa. Dalam sebuah pentasan ketoprak, sandiwara yang diselingi dengan lagu-lagu Jawa, yang diiringi dengan gamelan disajikan. Tema cerita dalam sebuah pertunjukan ketoprak bermacam-macam. Biasanya diambil dari cerita legenda atau sejarah Jawa. Banyak pula diambil cerita dari luar negeri. Tetapi tema cerita tidak pernah diambil dari repertoar cerita epos (wiracarita): Ramayana dan Mahabharata. Sebab nanti pertunjukkan bukan ketoprak lagi melainkan menjadi pertunjukan wayang orang. Sedangkan Indosiar adalah salah satu televisi swasta yang peduli dalam pengembangan dan pembudayaan kesenian tradisional, salah satunya adalah penayangan hiburan wayang kulit. Hiburan ini saat ini mulai jarang di dapat dinikmati oleh kalangankalangan perkotaan karena jarang ada masyarakat perkotaan yang menggelar pertunjukan wayang ini. Penayangan wayang kulit di Indosiar setiap sabtu malam mulai pukul 12.00 wib cukup memberikan sedikit penyegaran masyarakat tentang kesenian tradisional, dengan lakon-lakon yang disajikan cukup menarik dan penampilan dalang-dalang yang cukup kreatif dalam penyusunan instrumen gamelan dengan musik modern membuat pertunjukan lebih menarik. Dengan modifikasi yang dilakukan oleh para dalang baik mengenai musik dan alur cerita membuat pertujukan wayang yang disiarkan oleh indosiar menjadi lebih diminati oleh berbagai kalangan, lelucon yang di tampilkan juga cukup menarik, namun benang merah alur cerita tidak banyak mengalami perubahan. Sehingga wayang kulit yang merupakan salah satu media komunikasi penyampaian informasi kepada masyarakat dapat memenuhi misinya. Terobosan yang dilakukan oleh televisi swasta indosiar memang perlu mendapat dukungan dan dapat dicontoh oleh stasiun-stasiun televisi swasta lain sehingga kebudayaan bangsa tidak lenyap ditelan oleh perjalanan waktu. Dengan kata lain, keberadaan kesenian tradisional sekarang harus memperoleh perhatian dan perlakuan yang sungguh-sungguh agar bisa terus berkembang dan tetap bertahan menjadi bagian dari budaya dan perbendaharaan hidup masyarakat kita. Memang diakui bahwa kesenian tradisional bisa bertahan sampai kini karena keunikan intrinsiknya sendiri dan kreativitas luar biasa dari para dalang dan paguyubannya. Faktor ini terbukti dengan keberadaan kesenian tradisional dan perkembangannya sejak zaman Kerajaan Kahuripan, Kediri, Majapahit, Demak, Pajang, dan Mataram hingga sekarang di era global dan digital. Semuanya tidak lepas dari peran media massa, seperti televisi
Selain itu kuda lumping adalah aset bangsa yang sangat bernilai oleh karena itu kita harus menjaga keberadaanya dari bangsa lain yang ingin mengakuinya sehingga dapat menjadi salah satu ciri khas bangsa indonesia selama ini kuda lumping hanya dikenal sebagai hiburan pinggir jalan dengan nilai seni yang murahan.

TEORI KOMUNIKASI MASSA

Teori Ketergantungan Media (Dependency Theory)
Teori ini menyatakan bahwa semakin seseorang tergantung pada suatu media untuk memenuhi kebutuhannya, maka media tersebut menjadi semakin penting untuk orang itu. Teori ini diperkenalkan oleh Sandra Ball-Rokeach dan Melvin DeFleur. Mereka memperkenalkan model yang menunjukan hubungan integral tak terpisahkan antara pemirsa, media dan sistem sosial yang besar.
Kaitan tema masalah dengan teori
Karena apabila seseorang telah menyukai suatu program atau tayangan misalnya tentang kesenian kuda lumping maka dia akan memilih media yang berhubungan dengan kesenian. Dalam hal ini kami ingin agar masyarakat dapat lebih bergantung untuk memperhatikan atau menyukai kesenian khususnya kuda lumping hingga menjadi tertarik bahkan bisa menjadi hobi.
Konsisten dengan teori-teori yang menekankan pada pemirsa sebagai penentu media, model ini memperlihatkan bahwa individu bergantung pada media untuk pemenuhan kebutuhan atau untuk mencapai tujuannya, tetapi mereka tidak bergantung pada banyak media dengan porsi yang sama besar. Besarnya ketergantungan seseorang pada media ditentukan dari dua hal.
• Pertama, individu akan condong menggunakan media yang menyediakan kebutuhannya lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan media lain yang hanya sedikit. Sebagai contoh, bila anda menyukai gosip, anda akan membeli tabloid gosip dibandingkan membeli koran Kompas, dimana porsi gosip tentang artis hanya disediakan pada dua kolom di halaman belakang, tetapi orang yang tidak menyukai gosip mungkin tidak tahu bahwa tabloid gosip kesukaan anda, katakanlah acara Cek dan ricek, itu ada, ia pikir cek dan ricek itu hanya acara di televisi, dan orang ini kemungkinan sama sekali tidak peduli berita tentang artis di dua kolom halaman belakang Kompas.
• Kedua, persentase ketergantungan juga ditentukan oleh stabilitas sosial saat itu. Sebagai contoh, bila negara dalam keadaan tidak stabil, anda akan lebih bergantung/ percaya pada koran untuk mengetahui informasi jumlah korban bentrok fisik antara pihak keamanan dan pengunjuk rasa, sedangkan bila keadaan negara stabil, ketergantungan seseorang akan media bisa turun dan individu akan lebih bergantung pada institusi - institusi negara atau masyarakat untuk informasi. Sebagai contoh di Malaysia dan Singapura dimana penguasa memiliki pengaruh besar atas pendapat rakyatnya, pemberitaan media membosankan karena segala sesuatu tidak bebas untuk digali, dibahas, atau dibesar-besarkan, sehingga masyarakat lebih mempercayai pemerintah sebagai sumber informasi mereka.
Fakta tentang Teori
Melihat sekarang ini masyarakat sangat ketergantungan dengan media apalagi di indonesia rata-rata menggunakan tv selama 12 jam bahkan sampai 24 jam tiap harinya,(19,7 jam per minggu) Sekitar 56% dari seluruh penduduk Indonesia yang menikmati listrik dan sering diam di rumah menghabiskan waktunya untuk menonton TV. Maka dengan melihat fakta itu kita dapat memanfaatkan hal tersebut dengan program kesenian seperti kuda lumping yang dibuat lebih modern sehingga dapat sesuai dengan perkembangan dan selera masyarakat. Sebaliknya minat baca orang indonesia sangat kurang sehingga penggunaan media cetak juga tidak banyak. bagaimana kondisi minat baca di Indonesia? Dengan berat hati kita katakan, minat baca masyarakat Indonesia masih sangat rendah. Itu terlihat dari data yang dikeluarkan Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) pada 2006. Bahwa, masyarakat kita belum menjadikan kegiatan membaca sebagai sumber utama mendapatkan informasi. Orang lebih memilih menonton TV (85,9%) dan/atau mendengarkan radio (40,3%) ketimbang membaca koran (23,5%)

PENUTUP

Kesimpulan
Kesenian tradisional adalah budaya yang merupakan medan nyata di mana praktik-praktik, representasi-representasi, bahasa dan kebiasaan-kebiasaan suatu masyarakat tertentu berpijak. Budaya juga adalah bentuk-bentuk kontradiktif akal sehat yang sudah mengakar pada dan ikut membentuk kehidupan sehari-hari. Persoalannya sekarang, apa yang harus dilakukan agar eksistensi dan masa depan kesenian tradisional itu terjamin dan tidak kehilangan apresiasi publik?

 Kekayaan kesenian bangsa indonesia sangat menguntungkan dan bermacam-macam ciri khas dari setiap daerahnya maka sebagai generasi penerus bangsa harus dapat melestarikannya.
 Khususnya mahasiswa mass communication kami mencoba membuat kesenian kuda lumping menjadi lebih modern dan tetap pada ciri khasnya untuk tontonan masyarakat saat ini.

Saran
Saran kami sebagai bangsa yang memiliki banyak kebudayaan kita wajib untuk menjaga dan melestarikan budaya indonesia. Gunakanlah kreativitas kalian untuk mencapainya jangan sampai kebudayaan kita direbut oleh bangsa lain.
Indonesia seharusnya lebih meningkatkan minat baca dibanding menghabiskan wakktu untuk nonton tv seperti tayangan sinetron yang kurang mendidik.
